These are pictures from a trip in September 2000 to the "Copper Canyon" of NW Mexico. We traveled from Los Mochis on the coast through the canyon by rail and bus ending up in Chihuahua on a birding tour with Borderland Tours.

Some of the good birds we saw were Blue-footed Booby (yeaah!), Happy Wren, Gray Silky Flycatcher, and an excellent look at Eared Trogon for some.

"If you lived in this cave, you'd be home now!"
This is a home of one of the Tarahumara Indian families. Actually, I could think of a lot worse places to live. The Indians seemed rather happy, and they had a nice shy, charm in dealing with us tourists.
